What does a Professional Organizer do?

I help you organize all of your “stuff” in any space of your home or business. Disorganization and a space full of things you no longer use or love creates stress. We will go through your things together and you will decide if you love them and still use them. I will help you clear out all the rest. Then I will create a fresh new organizing system for all the things you want to keep. You will be left with a space that is refreshing and relaxing, where you can use and enjoy the things you love. 


What is it like to work with you?

 

First Steps:

Discovery Call

The first step is to schedule a Free No-Obligation Discovery Call with me by going to my “Click Here To Begin“ page, filling out the form, and picking a date and time that works best for you. Grab a coffee or another favorite beverage and let's chat! This call is 20-30 minutes in length. We will get to know each other a bit, spend some time talking about your project and your goals, and find out if we are a good fit for each other. Please bring any questions you might have for me and I will do my best to answer them. If we both agree that working with each other sounds like a great idea,  we will schedule your Free No-Obligation On-Site Consultation ($150 value).

Free On-Site Consultation

The On-Site Consultation is 60 minutes in length. You will get to show me your space and we will have a more detailed conversation about your organizational goals and expectations.

 

During Sessions:

Clear out

I will help you go through your things and help you make decisions about what you want to keep. I will not pressure you to get rid of anything. I will not eliminate or toss anything without your consent.

Please note: I require your presence during this part of the process. 

Organize

After the clear out step in this process, we organize everything and create new systems for your space. I do recommend that you be there to organize with me, so that you can learn your new space and the systems behind it all. But sometimes you can't be around, which is okay, and so at this point I can also work independently.

Wrap up

I will coordinate pickup of trash (if needed) and haul donations after each session. I will also check in with you after each session for feedback, to see if you have any questions, and to see if anything needs to be tweaked.


Do I need to tidy up before you get here?

Nope. :) I know it's hard to have someone see the things you want to hide behind a closed door, but this is something I love to do! Leaving the piles of stuff helps me understand how to find the right solution for you. I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to help you! Besides, I've seen it all. Everyone has clutter in their lives that they could use some help with. You are not alone!


What about my privacy?

My standards of confidentiality and integrity are very high. I strive to protect my client's privacy and confidentiality. I believe that the choice to let others know you've hired a professional organizer is up to you. Only you will be able to say if, when, and how you tell others. Therefore, I don't have advertising on my car or wear anything that says I'm a Professional Organizer.  


I hate going through things and getting rid of stuff!

This is a perfect reason to hire a Professional Organizer! You won't have to do this alone. I will help you and encourage you to keep going until we are done. I will be there to make it easier and faster. :)

Note: if it feels physically painful for you to let go of things, or if you have so much stuff that it's hard to freely move about or sit in your space, then you might have a hoarding disorder and would be better served by a behavioral psychologist. How long will it take?

Each space is different and the rate often depends on how quickly you can make decisions about your stuff. Think of this as more of a process, not as fast stress-filled appointments.


Will you take pictures of my home or office?

I do take pictures and/or short videos with my phone to use as a my own reference for planning out your space.  These pictures and/or videos would be for my use only. I will not publish them or share them unless I ask you for permission. If I would like to use pictures and/or videos of your space, I will always ask you for permission first, and then I will tell you how and where I will use them. 


Is it okay to have my kids at home?

You bet! Especially if we are working in their spaces. They will get to have input and learn how to stay organized. 

However, very young children may slow us down, and I want you to get your money's worth from our sessions. So, I do recommend you have a sitter watch younger children. 


The Fine Print

  • My #1 Priority is that you are happy with what we did in your space. I will contact you after each session to get your feedback.

  • Payment due: payment must be made in full in advance of your session (or, in advance of your first session if your project requires more than one session). You may pay by check, money order, cash, or credit card.

  • Organizing products and/or supplies (if needed) cost extra.

  • Cancellations: there is no fee if you need to reschedule a session, as long as you give 24 hours notice. If you cancel without giving 24 hours notice, I may assess a fee up to the full amount of the scheduled session at my discretion.
